Saturday, August 13th 1:30 p.m. Shotgun start - Our Annual Hackin’ Hookin’ and Hoggin’ Tournament

Format - 18 Hole four man Scramble(Hackin’) followed by a hog Roast(Hoggin’) followed by a fishing tournament (Hookin’)on the lakes at Raccoon International Golf Course. Cost is $240 per team. A $60 deposit is required to hold a team spot for this event. We always throw in a couple of special conditions into the golf portion of the event to keep you from taking yourselves too seriously. A good number of the proximity awards are strategically set to be won by a shot not requiring a large amount of skill. We do pay out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team places, but our best prizes are drawn out randomly. At the conclusion of golf, any ties are settled by a spirited round of “rock, paper, scissors”. This event fills up fast, so send in your entry with deposit ASAP. Once we have reached 36 teams, we are full.

Friday, November 11th 10:00 a.m. shotgun start – Veterans Day Chili Scramble

Saturday, November 12th 10:00 a.m. shotgun start – Veterans Day Chili Scramble II

This event has become so popular in recent years that we have needed to expand to two days. Everyone is welcome to play. For veterans, the cost is $10 per player. For non-vets, the cost is $30 (100%of the extra money paid by non-vets goes into prizes) per player. Entry fee includes 18 holes with cart, chance to win individual proximity awards, and all the chili, chili dogs, and donuts you can eat.

With the support of many local restaurants and other small business owners, we were able to give out prizes to all of the participants last year. There are too many to mention individually, but we sincerely thank all who have contributed so generously to help us with this event. As this event has grown, the challenge of putting it together has grown as well. It comes at a time of year when we are reduced to a minimal staff. We do need help making it happen. If you would be interested in helping us with prizes or helping us as a volunteer on these days, please contact us. If you (as an individual or a business owner) are interested in “sponsoring” a team of four veterans the cost is $60 and includes entry into the skin game.

About the food:Donuts, coffee, and juices at registration. We have other “Juices” available throughout the day at very reasonable rates. The chili: Several of our staff members (and even some former staff members) participate each year in making their own special recipe chili.(A special thank you also has to go out to Texas Roadhouse restaurant for the incredible chili and rolls they provided last year) Re: Our ever evolving menu board:After considering the dangers of having 100+ mostly seniors eating some pretty powerful chili all day long, we have now expanded the food options to include chicken and noodles and a few other less intense entrees.

About this event:You have to watch theinteraction between these Veterans to understand that they have a level of camaraderie that no other group can match. No matter what you might hear one call another, you cannot help but recognize the level of respect they have for each other. We are honored to have them share their day with us.
